Tip Top Ice Cream Factory Tour

We went to the Tip Top Factory on 26th of July 2018. It was good to see lots of whanau and children participated in this excursion. They were very excited to explore the process of making ice-cream. The Tip Top Factory tour guide showed us around the factory. She shared with us about the history of the Tip Top through the photo gallery and our families took lots of photos with the oldest Tip Top Vintage car. When we got inside the Tip Top factory building, the tour guide showed us the facilities of making ice-cream through windows. She encouraged tamariki/children to stand by windows and introduced different kinds of machines, which have various purposes. She also told us the source of ingredients. All the children and families were really interested in learning the sources of the ingredients and the process of production, which ensure the high-quality standard of Tip-top ice cream. At the end of our, we went to a movie room. Each of us picked an ice-cream we liked, which is the most exciting part for the children. We watched a documentary introducing the history of Tip top and the commercials over the decades while we enjoyed the yummy ice cream. All our families and children had lots of fun throughout the tour. The parents and educator suggested us to organise more educational tours like this. And we would like to encourage families to join us to develop on children’s learning.
